In Law, the transfer of a contract to a third party, who is subrogated in the rights and obligations arising from the original contract. The consent of the other party is usually required, and the contract must specify the rights being transferred and their modalities, as well as the time and place in which such rights can be exploited. It must also be specified whether the assignment is exclusive or not.
